  • GAMA Construction Limited was founded.
    The İzmir Çiğli Airport Project commenced.

    1959

  • GAMA became the a representative of Babcock and Wilcox in Turkey.

    1963

  • GAMA, the first Turkish company to obtain the World Bank “Certificate of Qualification for Construction of Industrial Plants” completed the general installation of the Mersin Thermal Power Plant.

    1968

  • GAMA Industrial Plant Manufacturing and Construction Inc. was founded.

    1970

  • GAMA was awarded its’s first project overseas, the 320-ton/hour Steam Plant job project in Iran was undertaken.

    1974

  • The 6×165 MW Soma Thermal Power Plant Project commenced.

    1976

  • The construction of Turkey’s first submarine pipeline, the Istanbul – Bosphorus Crossing Submarine Pipeline was completed.

    1977

  • Construction activities in the Middle East commenced. (Including the Ain Ghazal Sewage Treatment Plant in Jordan, the Yamama and Sakufa Cement Factories in Saudi Arabia, and the Salahuddin Refinery in Iraq).

    1980

  • GAMA Industrial, Agricultural Trading and Marketing Inc. was founded, which formed the basis of GAMA Trading and Tourism Inc.

    1981

  • The coal transport system, world’s longest 8.5 km and one-piece conveyor lines at the time, was completed for the Soma Thermal Power Plant.

    1984

  • Babcock & Wilcox – GAMA Boiler Technologies Inc. was founded, which formed the basis of GAMA Power Systems.

    1990

  • Construction of the Gazprom Headquarters (at the time, the tallest building in Russia) expanded GAMA’s construction and contacting operations to Russia. GAMA was awarded a “Certificate of Honor” by the Russian Government at a ceremony in the White House for completing the renovation of the Russian Parliament Building on time and to the highest standards.

    1993

  • The initial steps to becoming an investing company were taken with the following BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) projects; Birecik Dam, Marmara Ereğlisi Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant and İzmit Domestic and Industrial Water Supply Projects.

    1995

  • The Ankara Metro, the first integrated heavy rail transit system project in Turkey was completed.

    1996

  • GAMA Foundation for Education was established.

    1997

  • GAMA added a new geography location to its overseas vision; GAMA Construction Ireland Ltd was founded in Ireland.

    2001

  • GAMA Energy Inc. was founded.
    GAMA Power Systems Engineering and Contracting, Inc. was founded.
    GAMA Trading and Tourism Inc. was founded.

    2002

  • GAMA International B.V. was founded.
    GAMA Holding was founded. The GAMA Group restructured its 5 main companies, 19 subsidiaries, 6 affiliates and 10 joint ventures that operate in the construction, energy and trade sectors, were gathereding them under the GAMA Holding umbrella.

    2003

  • GAMA Energy’s affiliates; GARET Energy Production and Trading Inc., which operates in the field ofwas founded to operate in the field of wind power investments, and GATES Electric Energy Wholesales Inc. was founded for electricity wholesales. The 384,5 MW Tynagh Natural Gas Combined Power Plant, a GAMA Ireland investment, commenced power generation.

    2006

  • GAMA Holding and GE Energy Financial Services became %50-50 partners of GAMA Energy, an affiliate of GAMA Holding, to invest in energy and water projects in Turkey and the surrounding region. DIWACO, an affiliate of GAMA Energy Water International B.V., was awarded the construction project tender and operation, for 25 years of the DISI water infrastructure project, which was of Jordan’s biggest water investment and GAMA’s first overseas Build-Operate- Transfer infrastructure project and one of Jordan’s biggest water investments.

    2007

  • GAMA celebrated its 50th anniversary.

    2009

  • GAMA Trading and Tourism Inc., delivered Turkey’s first Mobile Surgical Hospital and Mobile First Aid Station to the Turkish Armed Forces.

    2010

  • Ankara University GAMA Vacational Highschool was founded.

    2011

  • The GAMA Holding Headquarters in Ankara was the first to receive a LEED EB GOLD certificate in Turkey.

    2012

  • GAMA Holding, as GAMA & TÜRKERLER Partnership, was awarded the tenders of İzmir Bayraklı and Kocaeli Integrated Health Campuses. These two projects were to be realized are sponsored by the Turkish Ministry of Health under a Public- Private – Partnership (PPP) model, where the PPP model is utilized for the first time in Turkey by the Ministry of Health.
    The construction of “MARMARAY”, the first submarine submerged tunnel of Turkey, was completed.

    2013

  • Following Malaysia State Electric Company Tenaga Nasional’s investment, the new shareholder structure of GAMA Enerji A.Ş. changed as : 50.5% GAMA Holding A.Ş., 30.0% Tenaga Nasional Bhd, 14.5% IFC, 5.0% IFC Global Infrastructure Fund Holding I Coöperatief U.A. (GIF)

    2015

  • GAMA Academy was founded with the vision of creating a competitive advantage for the corporation by contributing to the success of GAMA employees.

    2017

  • GAMA Industries successfully finished construction of the Yamal LNG Project, the first LNG plant at the North Pole.

    2018

  • The largest and regionally the most efficient power plant of Bahrain, 1800 MW ALBA Power Plant has been completed. The Power Plant is the first H-Class power plant in the Middle East.
