GAMA ENERJI HIGHLIGHTED DIGITAL VIOLENCE WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE

Between 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and 10 December, Human Rights Day, activities were carried out by GAMA Enerji within the scope of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence to raise awareness against all forms of violence targeting women and based on gender. As part of this international campaign, the importance of a collective stance against violence was emphasized, while violence against women was once again highlighted as a violation of human rights.

This year’s global campaign, led by UN Women and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), focused on digital violence against women and girls. Online harassment, cyberstalking, threats, non-consensual sharing, deepfake content, and other forms of technology-facilitated violence pose significant risks to safety, equal participation, and freedom of expression in digital spaces. These forms of violence extend beyond online environments, directly affecting women’s social, psychological, and economic lives.

Within this framework, awareness efforts were launched through a post shared by Board Member and General Manager Tamer Çalışır, drawing attention to the different dimensions of digital violence and underlining the importance of ensuring safe online spaces for all. Through the content shared throughout the campaign period, GAMA Enerji’s approach to human rights, equality, and the creation of safe environments was made visible.

Throughout the 16 Days of Activism, contributions from Şefs supported efforts to strengthen awareness around digital violence and to promote gender equality. GAMA Enerji continues to address equality, respect, and the promotion of safe digital environments as an integral part of its corporate responsibility and business culture.
