Due to the success on the ENR 2020-2021 World’s Largest 250 International Contractors List, GAMA was presented with an award on August 24, 2022, by the Turkish Contractors Association (TMB). GAMA Industry and Power Systems General Manager Ahmet Ligvani received our award at the ceremony, attended by 48 Turkish contracting companies that have succeeded in the contracting sector to the whole world with the projects they have undertaken in 131 countries.

We are proud to receive the award, and we thank the entire GAMA family for their devoted efforts.

As part of Malaysian Prime Minister Mr. Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob’s four-day official visit to Turkey to strengthen cooperation between Malaysia and Turkey, senior officials of Tenaga Nasional Berhad, the Malaysian partner of GAMA Enerji, met with the Deputy Chairman of the Board of GAMA Holding and Chairman of the GAMA Enerji A. Hakan Özman and, Member of the Board of Directors and General Manager of GAMA Enerji Tamer Çalışır, in Istanbul on the 5th of July 2022. During the meeting, GAMA Enerji’s future investment plans were discussed by both parties.

We are pleased to announce that one of our exciting project milestones as Steam Admission and Synchronization was successfully completed in our Hartha Power Plant U1 Rehabilitation Project constructed by GAMA Power Systems and Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS) Consortium. We are delighted to generate electricity earlier than the planned project schedule. Congratulation to our Hartha Project team, #MoE and the Project Partners for such outstanding achievement.

GAMA Enerji ranked 131st in the Fortune 500 Türkiye 2021 list, which identifies Türkiye’s 500 largest companies. This year, it managed to be included in the list published for the 15th time in Türkiye and for the 6th time in a row.

Turkish Basra Consul General, M. Özgün Arman visited our Hartha Thermal Power Plant Unit-1 construction site on October 17, 2021, and received information about our project, which continues in the Basra region of Iraq.
As no Covid-19 cases have been seen at the Hartha project site since the beginning of the pandemic, our Employer presented us with a letter of appreciation and a plaque awarded by the Ministry of Electricity, with a small ceremony held at the construction site by Mr. Arman and the Employer Project Manager.

One of the critical milestrones of our RADES-C Combined Cycle Power Plant Project in Tunisia, the first steam admission to the steam turbine was carried out successfully on 22 December 2021, and the synchronization works were completed as of 31 December 2021. 

Carried out with the help of gas turbine in the power plant before the new year, electricity production is now more efficient due to the steam turbine which came into operation in the new year. The electrical and load tests, and tuning processes of the entire system along with the steam turbine of our project continue rapidly.

Our next step constitutes the most important milestone of the project, which is putting the power plant into commercial operation for combiye Cycle portion.

In addition to these updates, 7.25 million man-hours have been reached without 1,590 lost-day accidents as of January 1, 2022. As GAMA, we prioritize occupational safety and health.

İzmir and Kocaeli City Hospital Projects, in which GAMA Holding is involved as one of the primary investors, have received the “2020 Restructuring Deal of the Year Award” by Bonds & Loans organization. Yalçın Eligüzeloğlu, President of GAMA Holding PPP Investments Group, accepted the award together with other executives of the projects at the Bonds & Loans award ceremony held in İstanbul on November 25, 2021, with the participation of some of the most prominent corporates and financial institutions active in the Turkish market. Yalçın Eligüzeloğlu, who has led project finance as well as restructuring processes for both projects on GAMA side in his capacity as Board Member for both projects, conveyed his deepest thanks to all those who contributed to these successful financings and to the Bonds & Loans organization for enabling the opportunity for the market participants to get together and celebrate their success stories. Previously, the projects were awarded as the “Best Social Infrastructure Project” and the “Best Project Finance Deals” consecutively in 2017 and 2018 out of a short-list of domestic and international contenders. Turnkey construction works of both hospitals continue to be carried out with the aim of commencement of operations in 2022.
